કાવ્યમાં સાંપ્રત વલણો–(એક અભિપ્રાય)

આજના કાવ્યને ગંભીર સાંપ્રત આવશ્યક છે.”૨૦૧૫ના કાવ્યમાં છેલ્લાં વલણ”લખી કંપ્યુટરમાં સાશ્ચર્ય શોધો તો અતિઘણી વિગતો ઉપસી નથી આવતી,મને કેટલાંક સાહિત્ય વિશે શબ્દાડંબર આધારિત ફરિયાદ નિબંધો મળ્યાં જેમાંનાસમજી નથી શકાતાં કે સામયિક ગતિ વગર ઇતિહાસ બદલી ન શકાય.સર્જક સાંપ્રત બદલી શકે,અને ક્યારેક ભાવિઆપણે સાહિત્યમાં નવ્ય તરાહો ઘડવી પડે.

કાવ્યના સમગ્ર ઇતિહાસ દરમ્યાન ,પરિવર્તનની અપેક્ષા હતી અને સંભવ્યુંઃ કળા બદલાઈ ટકી રહેવા.શું એકવીસમી સદીના બીજા દાયકામાં અમેરિકા જાપાનની ૧૯૪૦ની વાકા(WAKA)જેવી અક્કડ કવિતાનો ભોગ બનશે ?સહમતિ આપણી પાસે છે,અહુણા.ઇન્ટરનેટ પર કેટલાંય વિધાનો થયાં હતાં કે કવિતા મ્રુત્યુ પામી છે. પરિવર્તન વગર મ્રુત્યુ પામશે.૯૮% સર્જન આજે સામયિકોમાં વાંચું છું તે દાયકા પહેલાં લખાયેલાં જેવાંજ છે.ક્યાં છે વિદ્યાપીઠોના સાંપ્રત અભ્યાસક્રમો અને ખર્ચાળ ઉનાળુ સર્જનાત્મક અભિગમોમાંથી? શક્ય હોય ત્યારે,દરેક સર્જકે ભૂતકાળમાં નિષ્ક્રિય થયેલાંઓને આગળ વધવા સમજાવવા જોઇએ.
અન્પેક્ષિત અભિગમથી વંચાયેલી ગ્રામીણતા કે લાગણીસભર પ્રેમની કવિતા વધું મનોરંજક હોય છે.વ્યાખ્યામાં ઢાળેલી સર્જનાત્મકતા બે સદિ પહેલાંય પરિવર્તનાત્મક અભિગમ ન હતો.સાંપ્રતના મજકૂરમાં ૨૧મી સદીના કાવ્યાત્મક વલણના, સાંપ્રત જીવન પધ્ધતિના અનેક કૂટપ્રશ્નો સમાવિષ્ટ હોવાં જોઇએ.
ઓનલાઇન શોધખોળમાં અનેકમાંથી એક નવ્યતા સાથે સંક્રમિત થયો તે અલ્ટ લિટ, અર્થાત એકાંતરુ.આ વક્રતા,જોકે, જર્મન ભાષાના ઓલ્ટનો અંગ્રેજીમાં અર્થ પ્રચીન થાય,અને આ શૈલિ વર્ષોથી પ્રચલિત છે.ઓલ્ટ લિટ શબ્દ અને શબ્દસમૂહનું મિશ્રણ છે,જે સર્જક વિવિધ ઇન્ટર્નેટ ક્ષેત્ર પરથી મેળવી નવી શબ્દપ્રક્રિયા(વર્ડ્પ્રોસેસર)માં લાવી તરોતાજા સાહિત્યિક અંશમાં અરી ગોઠવે.
આ સાંધેલાં શબ્દ અને શબ્દસમૂહ કવિતા કે વાર્તા સર્જવા ફ્રીજ પર મા એ તમારે માટે મૂકેલાં જેવાં જ છે.દરેક સર્જક બીજા કોઈકના પ્રભાવાત્મક લખાણમાંથી એ મેળવી કોઈક રીતે અજમાવે છે.પણ, એ શૈલી છે? કવિ અને સર્જકે સાંપ્રતતા સર્જી,મૌલિક શૈલી,શબ્દ,શબ્દસમૂહ અને મજકૂર વિકસાવવા જોઇએ.
હાલ પૂરતી તો હું મારી સ્વચ્છંદ ( અનસ્ટ્રક્ચર્ડ)અનુ-રચનાત્મક શૈલી જ પસંદ કરું છું. જોઇશ મને ક્યાં દોરી જશે.ચાલો માનીએ કે ઓલ્ટ લિટ એક શૈલી, આ શરૂઆત થઈ શકે.ચાલો યા હોમ કરી ધપીએ >

Current Trends in Poetry

Poetry today needs a serious avant garde. Curious that when an online search for ‘latest trends in poetry 2015’ is typed in, not a lot of information shows up. I found several complaint essays about literature based on the verbiage of those who can’t understand that no one without a time machine can change history. Writers can change the present, and sometimes the future. We need to construct new paths in literature.

During the entire history of poetry, innovation was expected and produced: the craft changed to survive. Will second-decade-of-the-21st-century America fall into a 1940’s Japanese-like waka of inflexible poetry? The answer is in our hands, now. Many comments appeared last year on the internet stating that poetry was dead. It will die without change. Ninety-eight per cent of the literary pieces I read in current literary journals are more of the same from decades before. Where is the innovation coming out of academic MFA poetry programs and costly summer workshops? When possible, every writer and poet should persuade those who seem stuck in the past to move forward.

Poems about a lovely bucolic countryside or a passionate love affair are much more entertaining when told with an unexpected approach. Creativity forced into formulas established almost two centuries ago isn’t innovation. The content of new, early twentieth-first century poetry styles should contain some of the many issues relevant to contemporary life.

One of the few new styles that I ran across in my online search for the New, was Alt Lit, alt meaning alternative. Such irony, though, since the word Alt in German means old in English, and the style has been around for a while. Alt Lit is a amalgam of words and phrases that the writer collects from different internet areas, takes to a new word processor page and re-arranges into a freshened literary piece, frequently labeled poetry.

This gluing together of words and phrases is similar to the magnetic words that Mom left on the frig for you to assemble into a poem or story. All writers have discovered a phrase or two in another’s writing that they’ve found appealing and used it in some way. But, is this a style? Poets and writers should produce fresh, original styles, word phrasing and content.

I prefer my unstructured, post-structural poetic style, for now. I will see where that goes. Let’s say Alt Lit is a style, this can be a start. Let’s just get going >
